Different Uses For a Rubber Stamp
Rubber stamps have become a useful tool and a necessity in the workplace today. Large corporations are saving time and money by using rubber stamps in their advertising campaigns. Company logos are put on stationary and business cards, invoices and envelopes. In the payroll department, the signature stamp is used on paychecks. Other stamps like the date stamp, the notary stamp, and inspection stamps are all being utilized by small and large businesses. Some companies are giving the company logo on a rubber stamp out to clients and staff, as well.
Personal use of rubber stamps has increased in the last decade as well. More and more people are creating their own stationary and greeting cards. Others are scrap booking with rubber stamps. One idea is to decorate furniture and walls with rubber stamps. They are ideal for these uses due to the fact that the ink can be applied to so many different types of surfaces. Rubber stamps can be used on wood, clay, paper, walls, and most fabrics, too. This enables people to use their creative imaginations and decorate just about anything. Using rubber stamps as gift giving is another trend. A person can customize their own rubber stamp with a favorite picture of a person's child or pet and these make nice gifts. Other ideas include making stationary for people as gifts.
There are different types of rubber stamps available for purchase:
- The self inking stamp is the stamp that is most common. It has the ink pad built right into the stamping device. The die plate sits on top of the stamp and in one motion, the stamps flips around and into the ink and then back down onto the surface. This type is the easiest to re-ink, which makes it the most economical rubber stamp to buy.
- The pre-inked rubber stamp is where the die actually goes through a heating process and is embedded onto the rubber stamp itself. The biggest drawback to this type of rubber stamp is that when the ink runs dry, it is very difficult to re-ink the pad.
- A flash stamp is very similar to the pre-inked stamp. The difference is that the flash stamp has a very thin membrane on the stamp that can be re-inked easier than that of a pre-inked stamp.
Rubber stamps of all kinds can be purchased online. There are many different rubber stamp companies that offer all the above choices.
